Better Than You Know

Better Than You Know

I often tell my clients they are doing better, at any given moment, than they may be giving themselves credit for.

Over the past two years, I’ve continued to grow, evolve, and develop my being.

But, there have been times when the critic has chimed in and I’ve felt like maybe I should be doing more, working harder or further along, than I am.

During those moments, I turn to pictures.

I’ve got a terrible poker face. The good thing about not having a good poker face is that pictures are extremely telling. If I’m not happy, it’s obvious to even the most casual observer.

On the flip side, when I’m in a place of joy, I couldn’t hide it if I tried.

I remember a time when going through old pictures meant scouring the house for dusty photo albums. Nowadays, almost all of my pictures are on my cell phone. If they aren’t on my cell phone, they are almost definitely in a Facebook album.

Whenever I hear the committee in my head start the “not good enough” chatter, I grab my cell phone or jump on Facebook (okay, so who am I kidding? I’m always on Facebook.) and take a trip down memory lane.

As you begin, or continue, down your unique path and begin to implement changes, you may experience some chatter of self-doubt. Take pictures as you go so when it does happen, you’ll be able to look at your life and see that you really are doing better than you know.
