New Year, Clean Slate

I don’t know about you, but it feels like I was just ringing in 2016 and here we are, a few days into 2017.

Last year was one of tremendous growth and change for me. I was hopeful and eager to see what 2016 held for me but not in my wildest imagination could I have seen the year unfold the way it did.

I spent the last weekend of the year contemplating and reflecting, with gratitude, my successes and my struggles. I had some not-so-great moments in my Highlight Reel but the lessons from those were priceless.

The one thing I know for sure is I can’t even possibly dream as big as what is possible. Dream big, take action and then get out of the way.

January 1st is like this cosmic gift we get every year. What we did or didn’t do the previous year doesn’t dictate what we will get in this brand new year.

New year, clean slate... so what are you going to do with it?

Resolutions

I’m not a fan of resolutions. It seems as if every time I’ve made a resolution, no matter what it is, I set myself up to fail.

That’s not to say I don’t set intentions for the year, I absolutely do. I then make a commitment to myself to do whatever it takes to bring those to fruition.

If health and weight-loss are your priority for 2017, I happen to know someone who can help… ; )

Here are some things you can do right away:

Kick the sugar - Time to say goodbye to any left-over holiday sweets that may still be lingering around. Don’t wait for someone else to eat it, just throw it out. You can’t eat what you don’t have.

Watch your carb intake - Start paying attention to the total amount of carbs you’re taking in daily. If you are doing a keto or low-carb diet, your goal should be in the 20-25 grams per day range.

Up the fluids - Watch your caffeine intake and increase your lemon water. You’ll probably go through a detox of some sort when you stop the sugar and watch the carbs. It probably won’t be as bad as the first time, unless you went completely off the rails, or are just starting this lifestyle.

Commit or Recommit - Think of it like a vow-renewal ceremony. Committing or recommitting to a life that lets you live the healthiest and happiest version of yourself will give you some fuel in the tank during those first few days of detoxing.

If you haven’t been through a detox yet, be sure to reference my free 30 page Keto Kickstart Kit for strategies to get through those first few days.

And if you haven’t tried any of my keto recipes yet, now is the time to bust a move in the kitchen so you can see how great real eating is!

Stay tuned

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be unveiling 2 new programs, designed to give you more one-on-one support as you join us on a journey to health, weight-loss, and overall well-being.
